Self-doubt is one of the number one killers of dreams, motivation, progress and even awareness. How YOU see YOU is so much more important than how anyone walking this earth sees you rather it is your child, your parents, your best friend, your significant other, your colleagues, etc because no matter how much you try to mask it, what and how we feel inside seeps out and it can affect our interactions, our work ethic, our ability to comprehend and our ability to move forward.
So I ask this question, why not you?
How many times have you talked yourself out of doing something? Or wearing something? or applying to a job you KNOW you will enjoy? How many times have you allowed opportunity pass you by because you talked yourself out of it?
WHY NOT YOU?!
We’ve all had moments in which we felt stuck and we let our fears hold us hostage. The fear of not being good enough, but I have a question for you, if you don’t think you’re good enough, why should anyone else? It is so easy to get caught into just existing in this world because we fear the unknown. We stick to what we know, refusing to tip the scale and we suffer in silence because deep down we want more and we know we deserve more, we just don’t believe it or at least we’re scared to believe it.
Your greatness is in the unknown. You just have to be brave enough to bear it. As people we have to stop focusing on what can go wrong and start thinking about what can go right and what can be learned; it’s all about perspective.
Many of us are quick to praise others and to extend a hand, but shy away from our own greatness, why is that? Even when people compliment us, we deflect… why not you? The thing with this is, no matter how much we want to see others “win,” if we remain stuck where we’ve always been, we will grow resentful. Then the question turns into “why her/him and not me?” But you see, it was never a competition to begin with; everyone has potential to be great, only a few tap into their potential, apply it and build on it.
Why not you?
Let go of fear. Believe in yourself. Talk yourself through it and bring on an accountability/motivation partner. Allow yourself to make mistakes because NO ONE is perfect.. not even this blog you’re reading! Take steps in the right direction, remember it is a marathon not a race – word to Nipsey Hussle because THE MARATHON CONTINUES! Seriously, stop beating yourself up about past experiences and be freaking great and always remember there are multiple ways to greatness. Do not get caught comparing your route with someone else’s, focus on the task at hand.
When it’s all said and done and it’s your time to go, would you rather your final thoughts be, “I existed” or “I lived” ?
It’s YOU. You are IT. You have more power than you think & I can’t wait until you tap into your unknown because I know when you do, you will add more to the world.
